How to Increase Google Adsense CTR ( Click through rate ) and Download 4 Adsense PLR Websites

I don’t focus much on making money with google adsense as in most cases you will do better promoting affiliate products or your own product but I do have a number of websites with adsense. These sites generate anything between 1%-35% Click through rate depending on a number of factors.

What’s a good adsense ctr ? Well that is open to debate, some webmasters can get 50-70% CTR with adsense templates but others are happy just to get double digits. In some niches you will only get 1-2% if the ads are untargeted.

The great thing about finding a decent format that enjoys on average a 20% click through rate is that it is a plug and play template as you simply need to add content and get the traffic of course. This gives you a starting point as you can split test ads ( showing less ads may increase earnings per click etc..)

One of my sites uses a  template  that was part of a 25 page PLR site that I purchased and I have had over 20,000 page impressions so you can be sure that I have tested this adsense ctr and you would be expecting no less than 17-25% CTR.

Your results may differ of course but it’s a good starting point.

I also tweaked the template slightly on another of my websites and the results have been very similar.

Does Ezine Newsletter Advertising work ? I screwed up bad and still made $123.09

Hey, don’t get too excited. I have some Good and Bad News.

Good News….I screwed up this ezine advertising and should have made more money.

Bad News….I got a great deal on the ads which made them profitable.

More Bad News…. This case study is from a few years back and may not be as effective now.

Let’s get Positive again…Anyone can do this, just get creative and test ! There are many places where you can buy ad slots.

There are many different options if you are looking to advertise your product or affiliate program in an online internet marketing newsletter.You can purchase solo ezine advertising or simply go for sponsor slots or an agreed text slot with 4 or 5 text lines ( normally top, middle and lower slots of the publication).

I love testing different methods to make money online and decided a while back to check out if ezine advertising could provide a return on my investment. Now before I started it was important to pick an ezine that  actually respects it’s readers by not bombarding them with solo ads or crappy product recommendations on a daily basis.

You will find a lot of newsletters offering ads for a few bucks but in my past experience these are normally a waste of time as nobody reads the ezine due to the amount of ads.

I will breakdown the process and reveal the name of the newsletter shortly but I just want to quickly summarise the results below.

2 Ad Slots were booked on different dates and I promoted 2 different affiliate marketing products. I only took 10 mins max to write the ad copy ( more on that screw up later ! ) and could have made a lot more money if I had the time to collect opt in subscribers rather than simply direct linking to the product.

The first ad slot generated 5 sales and revenue of $228.33
The second ad slot generated 3 sales and revenue of $74.76

Ok, so the total revenue was $303.09

Now, let’s look at the amount of clicks the ads generated and the conversion rates and also reveal the ad spend for this ezine advertisement . Of course we will also reveal the name of the newsletter and the 2 products that brought in the sales….

How to Find the Best Affiliate Offers to Promote on your website

You need to promote affiliate programmes that convert your visitors into buyers and fortunately the networks give you detailed stats on the performance of merchants with details on their conversion rate and earnings per click.

This is very important as provided you send the correct traffic to these offers you are almost guaranteed to make money as they have proven records at converting sales.
